Catching up

Wow, I really need to catch up. Lots has been going on but I just haven't had time to sit down and write. I have lots to share and will probably have to do it in a few different posts. I need to post new pictures of myself and I want to share some pictures of the projects Carly and I have been working on, sewing. I am so addicted, I just don't get enough time to spend in my sewing room. I have to run for now but will try to get the rest of the posts done today.

Full Weekend

Well this weekend was very busy for me. I had two sewing classes. One on Saturday and one on Sunday. I will try to get pictures and post them so you can see. I learned a lot and had lots of fun. However, my machine wouldn't work on Saturday so I had to use one of the stores' machines and on Sunday I used mine but it was still not working right and it just kept messing up. I think I spent more time messing with my machine than actually sewing. So, when I got home I told Fred I was going to buy a new machine this week. He didn't seem to thrilled but I just can't keep using the old one and keep fixing it every two to three inches of sewing either. I guess that means a trip to Salem for me this week. Luckily they are having a sale right now on new machines at Whitlocks. :)
The rest of the weekend was spent with mom, shopping and doing things for her. And, on Sunday afternoon Fred's sister and her boyfriend came down from Aloha. Brian also came out while they were there. Had a good visit. Very loud and lots of laughing. Good for the soul. :)

I woke up this morning feeling very emotional and thinking about where I was 7 years ago on this day and how/when I found out. I remember sitting there watching it live on TV and feeling so blown away and sad and thinking "I am watching history in the making". I cried thinking of all those lost and all those wondering where their loved ones were and if they were alright. Take a little time out of your day today to pray for those lost, who have lost and all those who have dedicated their lives to protect us.

My New Obsession

I'm not sure if it is an "obsession" or not but it sure feels like it. I have become obsessed with Quilting, and Fabric. I think I might be a fabriholic. I can't seem to get away from it, I am constantly wanting to buy more. I am in search of a new sewing machine at the moment. My girls and I had our first "quilt club" class on Saturday and it was a blast. I have two more sewing classes coming up this weekend. I am setting up an area on my front porch (which is all closed in) for the girls and I to have as a sewing room. They are very excited also. I will have to share pictures of our projects as we go.

It has been crazy busy at work lately. We are technically full so it will slow down just a bit. However, I guess we have 2 people leaving Friday that I just found out about. Just in time for the weekend rush. :)

Labor Day Weedend

Well, it was a very busy one. Fred (my husband for those of you who do not know) and I painted the room and renewed the wood floor in Carly's room. That was a lot bigger job than we intended. It went well though. On Monday I had to take the girls school shopping for a few last minute school supplies and a couple outfits and such. That.... took forever. About 5 hours. Oh well, we did have fun and came home with everything they needed, finally. We were a little displaced due to all the things from Carly's bedroom sitting in the living room. So there wasn't much TV or anything else. We (Fred&I) were too pooped. Still feeling better and better each day and the energy and stamina is increasing also. Till next time........

Being Spontaneous can be fun

Well yesterday was very busy at work. Shellie and I were going to go to the gym after work but I ended up being there until 5:00. S0, we decided not to go and shortly after that Shellie called me back and said she had tickets to go see Creedence Clearwater Revival at the State Fair. We decided why not, free tickets can't pass that up. I left work went straight home changed and met Shellie at her house and off we went. We walked around all over the place, signed up for AAA and were tired before the concert even started. Shellie was thinking we would probably leave early. Well, we had such a great time that we stayed the whole concert. It was great. We got home about 10:30 and today we are both exhausted. But, we did have a great time and were spontaneous for once. Can't wait to do it again.

Visit from an old friend

Well yesterday was a pretty ordinary day. Except I did have a surprise visitor today at work. My friend Chris from high school came by and took me to lunch. We had a good time talking and catching up. After work my friend Shellie and I went to the gym and worked out for a while. When I got home I went over to see mom and she was on the phone. It was my sister in law Dotti. We had a real good talk. I miss her dearly. We had such a good visit this summer when they came out from Arizona. We must have talked for over an hour. The rest of the evening was pretty uneventful. I read for a while and got very cold so I went and snuggled up in bed. That was about it for the day.
